Our mind includes our mental health, thinking patterns, clarity and daily decision-making. We can heal and calm the mind through mindfulness, emotional regulation and inner work.

What carries us through this life is an amalgam of complex organs, systems and connections - our body. We primarily take care of and heal our body through food, movement and rest.

Soul
The deepest part of us - the untouchable - is our soul. We can rebalance the soul through self-care, connection to self and fulfilment in our lives.
What is holistic healing?
There are invisible synapses between your mind, body and soul. When each part is healthy, you’re healthy. When each part is whole, you feel whole.
The word ‘holistic’ stems from the Greek word ‘holos’, which means ‘entire’ or ‘whole’. Holistic healing, therefore, aims to make us whole.
We’re born whole and life (pain, illness, heartbreak, inner struggles, etc.) can chip away at parts of us, creating a need to find completeness again. By understanding the interconnectedness within us and in our life, holistic healing allows for the rebalancing of all.
How do we create lasting change?
To heal, change and grow in a way that’s sustainable and long-lasting, we need to take a holistic approach, and we need to ground everything so that it can be integrated and embodied.
If we ignore parts of us, our problems persist because the root cause isn’t addressed.
Holistic healing treats the entirety of you by taking a 360° view, so that no part is missed. By allowing the mind, body and soul/ self to be heard (and giving equal attention to all), we create balance from the inside.
This means addressing our every area of our life - from our self-connection, nutrition, exercise and sleep, to work, family, relationships, and daily habits. Each of us requires a unique balance of these, and our needs change throughout our lives. What works for ‘Amy’ might not work for you, and what worked for you 3 years ago might not work today.
By taking this holistic view, we create a personalised space - a safe container - that works on a deeper level and the work we do stays with us.
The Modern Approach vs. Holistic Healing
The modern Western approach to wellbeing, fulfilment and happiness tends to offer standardised, template solutions to very personal problems and challenges. This approach looks at the on-paper blocks or symptoms, and gives the quickest way out. This can mean constant medication, loops of tests or, at worst, the inability to solve an issue that doesn’t fit the template.
This conventional approach is driven by the most statistically-likely treatments that have worked on the largest number of people, so it works some of the time, but not always.
This approach also priorities work on the mental sphere, and bypasses the importance of embodying our experiences and looking to the body for guidance.
Holistic healing moves past this, and looks at the individual first and any blueprints second. It considers what might work for you before examining the most common healing solution. To do this, holistic healing gives you more power in the journey as you know yourself best. For example, this could mean asking what you’ve found to ease your migraines, before telling you what to or not to do. It might mean asking what your hobby was as a child, before giving you a career path. It’s about creating a partnership.
The modern Western approach to healing is symptom-based. The holistic approach is you-centred.
Simpler Than We Think
Holistic healing simply understands that we are human and, therefore, require humanity in our growth and healing journeys. It also understands that we are more than our physical representation, and that there is a deeper, intangible part of us that might know what’s truly best for us.
You might call that part your intuition, your Soul, your inner guide, or even the Universe communicating through you.
Holistic work allows us to rebalance ourselves through looking at the mind, body and soul, and transform ourselves through this.
